| | Whoa. Profound. I, too, had the same attitude taodrws capital punishment until a friend in Mexico was writing a paper supporting it. I consider myself open-minded, so I listened to what he had to say. I don't think it's fair to get emotionally involved in the issue (although that's completely impossible), but I now feel that in certain circumstances, such as the one you described, when you KNOW he (and invariably, it is a he) did it and will in all likely-hood do it again, kill'em. I've always believed that ANYONE who kills is insane, by the way. You have to be, to take the life of another human being. So, while I do believe there are times when it's necessary or unavoidable (like in self-defence, saving another's life, or in an accident, god forbid), pleading not guilty by means of insanity is obvious and hence, ridiculous. There are degrees, but insanity should NOT get you out of it, way I see it.Anyway nice blog, Shanz! If you have messenger, let me know with what address so I can add you and you can see MINE!Leslie |
